The Indonesian Foundation for Justice and Peace (YKPI) has once again gained the trust of the Sleman Regency Government through grant support from the Social Affairs Office. This support marks an important step in strengthening YKPI’s institutional capacity and encouraging collaborative efforts with youth communities to promote justice and peace at the local level.
As part of the official agenda of the local government, the Head of the Sleman Social Affairs Office invited YKPI, represented by Kristina Viri, Program Coordinator to attend the symbolic handover ceremony of the Productive Economic Assistance Program and Social Welfare Institution (LKS) Grants. The event was held on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at Pendopo Parasamya, starting at 08:30 AM until completion.
On this occasion, YKPI joined various other grant recipients, including women’s economic groups, women-headed households, and young entrepreneurs. The diversity of recipients reflects the commitment of the Sleman Regency Government to support community-driven social initiatives aimed at enhancing welfare and independence.
In his remarks, the Regional Secretary of Sleman Regency, Drs. Susmiarto, MM, emphasized that although the grants may not be large, they are expected to serve as a stimulus to strengthen ongoing initiatives so they can grow more independently and sustainably. He also stressed the importance of using the funds according to the submitted proposals to maintain transparency and avoid potential legal violations.
The Sleman Regency Government expressed its appreciation to citizens, community groups, and organizations such as YKPI that continue to contribute to social progress and community harmony. For YKPI, this support serves as both moral and institutional reinforcement to continue strengthening the role of young people in promoting tolerance, justice, and peace in Sleman and its surrounding areas.
